Following her school leaving examination in 1981, Annette von Hajmasy (born 1962) trained as a dental technician in Cologne, Germany. Until 1997, she worked for different dental laboratories in Cologne and Berlin, covering nearly all the disciplines of dental technology. In 1998, she obtained her Master Craftsman’s Certificate in Berlin, Germany. Subsequently, she worked for two years at the practice lab of Dr Detlef Hildebrand in Berlin specializing in implantology and esthetic dentistry. This was followed by a one-year stay in Cape Town, South Africa, where she worked as a trainer and coach in the field of ceramics and telescope prostheses.
In 2002 she became self-employed, and in 2007 she opened a joint laboratory with Jürg Stuck, MDT, in Cologne. Her areas of specialization include fixed and removable prostheses as well as all-ceramic and composite resin restorations. The composite pressing technique (KomPress) and the further development of composite application techniques have been topics of major interest to her.
Another focus of her work is facial and speech analysis in conjunction with dental prostheses.
She has given numerous lectures and published various papers at home and abroad, focussing on composite resin, the composite pressing technique and ceramic pressing technique.
